Abstract

The Effect of Creative Problem Solving (CPS) Model on the Creative Thinking Ability of Class XI IPS Students in Matrices Material at SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru Erna Yulita NPM. 156410191 Thesis . Mathematics Education Study Program . FKIP Islamic University of Riau Main Advisor : Sari Herlina , S.Pd. , M, Pd . ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the effect of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model on the creative thinking abilitiy of class XI IPS students in the matrix material at SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru. The form of this research is quasi-experimental (Quasi Experiment) with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This research using two classes in one school, namely class XI IPS 1 as an experimental class that is treated using the Creative Problem Solving model (CPS) and class XI IPS 3 as a control class that is treated with conventional learning. The instruments in this research were Syllabus, RPP, and LKPD. The technique of collecting data is done by using a test technique. Learning outcomes of students will be analyzed using descriptive average and inferential analysis in the student of data normality test and Mann Whitney test because the data are not normally distributed. It can be seen that the learning outcomes experimental class higher learning outcomes compared to the average control class and between the two classes there are differences in creative higher ability. From the Mann Whitney test results in the Posstest values seen Z_count> Z_table. The research show of the that there is an influence of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model on the creative thinking ability of class XI IPS students in the matrix material of SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru.
