Abstract

The existence of natural gas in the bowels of the earth cannot be separated from water. In general, natural gas that has just come out of the bowels of the earth has a high water content. With a high water content will cause the emergence of even greater hydrates so that the gas will create problems in operation and will reduce the selling value and economic value. So it is very important that the hydrates are removed so that the hydrates in the gas are as low as possible. By reducing the water content in this gas, it will increase the calorific value of the gas as well as facilitate the operation of the gas and prevent damage to the equipment used for the operation. This final project research was conducted in the DURI Block Bekasap Field, Duri Block is an exploration area of PT. PERTAMINA (PT. CPI) which is a field that produces gas. The Bekasap field has three wells for which an analysis of the use of Gas Up Choke will be carried out. The research will begin by knowing the standard specifications of the water content in the gas in accordance with the specifications of the water content in the HCT gas, conducting an analysis of the water content in the gas using several methods (Mcketta Wehe Graph, Behr Formula and Kazim Formula, Performing an analysis of the causes of high levels of water in the well and the use of the Gas Up Choke method to reduce the water content in the gas in the well.
