Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of blended learning on students’ cognitive outcomes in learning Islamic Studiesin grade IX at SMP IT Aziziyyah in Pekanbaru, Riau. The blended learning is a learning model that combines the traditional face-to-face learning model with the web-based electronic learning, video streaming, and audio communication. The type of the study is quantitative correlation research. The study is motivated by the low cognitive outcomes of students in learning Islamic Studies in grade IX at SMP IT Aziziyyah Pekanbaru. Based on the results of the study, it is found that the level of the implementation of blended learning in learning Islamic Studiesat SMP IT Aziziyyah Pekanbaru has a score of 0.85 or 85.01% which is in the range of 0.80-1000 or included in the category of "Very Good". While the level of students’ cognitive outcomes in learning Islamic Studies in grade IX at SMP IT Aziziyyah Pekanbaru has a score of 0.77 or 77.23% which is in the range of 0.60-0.799 or included in the category of "Strong". Based on the results of data analysis performed by SPSS 25, it is known that the magnitude of the influence of blended learning model on students’ cognitive outcomes in learning Islamic Studies is 0.574 or 57.4% or included in the category of "strong enough". So, it can be concluded that the blended learning model has enough stronginfluenceon the students’ cognitive outcomes in learning Islamic studies at SMP IT Aziziyyah Pekanbaru. It can be predicted that if the blended learning model increases, it will increase the students’ cognitive outcomes in learning Islamic Studies by 88.1%. And conversely, if the blended learning model reduces, it will reduce the students’ cognitive outcomes in learning Islamic Studies by 88.1%.
