Abstract

The aim of the study is to investigate the public speaking skills of teachers in teaching Islamic Studies at SMPIT Al-Fikri Islamic Green School Pekanbaru. The problem formulation of the study is how the public speaking skills of teachers in teaching Islamic Studies at SMPIT Al-Fikri Islamic Green School Pekanbaru. The object of the study is the public speaking skills of teachers in teaching Islamic Studies. This is a qualitative study with a descriptive analysis approach. The subject of the study is the Islamic Studies teachers, they are Ustadz Sohidin, M.IP and Ustadzah Fitriatul Hidayah, S.Pd. The data collection techniques of the study are interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis techniques of the study are through the steps of data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, data validity. Based on the results of the study, it is found that the public speaking skills of the teachers have a significant impact on students’ motivation and enthusiasm in learning so that they can understand the materials taught by the teachers. The teachers use their skills, especially in public speaking, to encourage students in the learning process of Islamic Studies.
