Abstract

This study aims to determine how the influence of the discussion method on the communication skills of students at Madrasah Aliyah Pesantren Hubbulwathan Duri, Bengkalis Regency. The method used in this study is a quantitative correlational type of research. The subjects in this study were students of the 2020/2021 class at the Madrasah Aliyah Pesantren Hubbul Wathan Duri, and the object of this research was the effect of the discussion method on the communication skills of students at the Madrasah Aliyah Pesantren Hubbulwathan Duri. The population in this study amounted to 105 students with a sample of 105 students. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and documentation. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, it is known that there is an effect of the Discussion Method on the Communication Skills of Students at Madrasah Aliyah Pesantren Hubbulwathan Duri. received. The magnitude of the influence of the Discussion Method of 0.293 or 29.3% is categorized as very low, because it is in the range of 0.20 – 0.399 as contained in the correlation coefficient interpretation table, while the remaining 70.7% is influenced by other things. Thus the hypothesis is accepted, the level of relationship between the influence of the Discussion Method on the Communication Skills of Students at Madrasah Aliyah Pesantren Hubbul Wathan Duri is included in the low category.
