Abstract

Oil production activities carried out in a number of working areas are faced with a number of problems and challenges that lead to a decrease in production. However, not always this problem causes a decrease in production but instead adds to the production plan because there are additional new factors that actually make production increase. Like the commingle formation that makes the production efficiency of a well becomes more and more increased but makes the pressure quickly drop. This drop in pressure raises a new problem, namely the decline in production. In this study, production optimization will be carried out using ESP (Electric Submersible Pump) against commingle formations. Selection of ESP pump type REDA HJ252N 5.62 in with design rate of 8000 BOPD, pump setting depth at 8000 ft. With an initial production rate of 650 BOPD (prior to ESP optimization) resulting in production of 1581 BOPD (after ESP optimization), each production obtained of 395 BOPD (layer 1), 729 BOPD (layer 2), and 456 BOPD (layer 3), ESP optimization in X well was successful.
