Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out how much motivation students have to learn physical education during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMA Negeri 1 Karimun. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population of this study were students of SMA Negeri 1 Karimun, amounting to 125 students. The sampling technique is a random sample with a sample size of 40 students. The motivation indicators in the questionnaire were divided into 10 indicators, namely: 1) mastering skills in physical education, 2) gaining knowledge about physical education, 3) developing attitudes to be successful, 4) wanting to be accepted by others, 5) enjoying sports/physical education, 6) praise/award, 7) friends, 8) sports teacher, 9) school facilities, 10) living environment. The number of initial statements is designed for 50 statement items and after the validity test becomes 42 statement items. The results of this study are student motivation towards learning physical education at SMA Negeri 1 Karimun with an average of 84% in the good category.
