Abstract

ABSTRACT Corporate social responsibility according to article 74 of the Limited Liability Company Law (UUPT), namely Law Number 40 of 2007, is an obligation that must be carried out by every company, according to this law, corporations or the industrial world that carry out their business activities in the field and or are related with natural resources obliged to organize it. The increased sense of concern for the quality of life, the environment and also the increase in social harmonization greatly affects the activities of the industrial world, thereby giving rise to demands for companies to have social responsibility towards the surrounding community. These are the benefits that companies can get from CSR activities, so that CSR activities should be made a mandatory program for companies, in addition to the obligations that have been regulated by law. From the above problems, several problem formulations can be determined, namely How the Implementation of CSR Implementation to Communities in PT. Asia Forestama Raya (AFR), What are the forms of CSR Implementation for Communities in PT. AFR and Factors What are the obstacles in implementing CSR to the community within the Company PT. AFR. This research uses an empirical library legal research method, which is carried out by observational research by conducting field surveys to collect primary and secondary data obtained directly from respondents by interviewing, questionnaires and reviewing books related to the problem as data and information in research. Then analyzed by looking at the practice of implementing CSR activities in the community around the company, it will be concluded about the implementation of corporate social responsibility related to solutions to social problems. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that in implementing CSR PT. Asia Forestama Raya uses a direct company participation model, namely carrying out its own social responsibility activities or making contributions to communities who need it in the form of direct assistance that the company regularly provides every year. As for the forms of CSR activities from companies such as giving sacrificial animals, donations to orphans before the Eid celebration and donations of funds for the activities of the 17 August Independence Day celebration, for other assistance the company is only waiting for the community to submit a proposal for assistance which will be assessed by the company. to be given such as infrastructure assistance and public facilities. For the obstacles experienced by the company in carrying out its social responsibility, including the lack of ability of the surrounding community in empowerment and coaching activities, the existence of community elements asking for help for personal and certain group interests, as well as company financial problems that always experience losses so that it becomes obstacles to the implementation of the CSR program in the Teluk Leok Village, Limbungan Village, Rumbai Pesisir District, Pekanbaru City.
