Abstract

The polymer conductor plate is a polymer matrix composite plate that is conductive and resistant to heat. One of the materials that have good electrical conductivity is graphite. This study aims to improve the electrical conductivity and mechanical properties. In this study, the selected materials are graphite, stainless steel powder and epoxy resin, the composition variations are 80%: 5%: 15%, 75%: 10%: 15% and 70%: 15%: 15% and the method used namely press molding. The results of the highest electrical conductivity and conductivity were in the composition of 80% graphite, 5% stainless steel powder, 15% epoxy resin, namely 50 S and 24.59 S/cm-1. This is because the presence of graphite can conduct a better conductance. The results of compressive strength at 70% graphite composition, 15% stainless steel powder, 15% epoxy resin obtained 13.66 MPa compressive strength along with the addition of stainless steel powder the increase in compressive strength value was directly proportional to the 75% graphite composition, 10% stainless steel powder , 15% epoxy resin and 80% graphite composition, 5% stainless steel powder, 15% epoxy resin are 14.6 MPa and 14.87 MPa. This is due to a decrease in the value of compressive strength with an increase in the amount of porosity. So that the less addition of stainless steel powder will continue to increase the value of compressive strength.
