Abstract

This study aims to analyze the fourth grade "Grow with English" textbook. There are many published English textbooks. Although many English textbooks for elementary schools are claimed to have been published and written based on basic competencies in the 2013 English curriculum syllabus, not all of them everything is in line with the 2013 curriculum. Therefore, analyze the textbook "Grow with English" helps us to determine the suitability of the book. The purpose of this study is to determine the suitability of the model contents of English textbook "Grow with English" with core competences and basic competencies of the 2013 Curriculum as well as knowing Eglish textbooks "Grow with English" meets the criteria of a good textbook. This research qualitative research and using descriptive methods to reveal existing data collected by document analysis. A sample is the textbook "Grow with English "for grade IV of SD Humairoh Siak Hulu. The data reveal that the textbook "Grow with English" is one of them books that have good book criteria. Researchers also found many schools use the book because it is in accordance with the core competence and basic competency curriculum 2013
