Abstract

The research area is located in the southeastern part of Padang Ganting, Padang Ganting sub-district, Tanah flat district, West Sumatra province. The research area is a landslide-prone area due to controlling factors in the form of topography which is sloping to slightly steep and land use that causes landslides. The aim of this research is to zoning the ground motion based on the controlling factor. Land movement zoning aims to identify areas that are prone to landslides by dividing/classifying these areas based on their causal factors. The research method is in the form of primary data collection, namely sample data and rock descriptions, slopes, land use, and the presence of soil movements in the form of photographs. Based on the results of geomorphological research, the research area is divided into 2 units, namely the Denudasional Sloping Hills Geomorphology Unit, and the Structural Slightly Steep Hills Geomorphology Unit. Lithology Granite in the study area is a low level of vulnerability to soil movement, while in conglomerate rock, sandstone, and siltstone the vulnerability level is quite high to very high. The influence on the geological structure of the study area is divided into 4 intensities. The intensity is very high <100m, high intensity 100-200m, moderately high intensity 200-300m, and low intensity 300-400m. The land use of the research area is divided into 6 parts, namely forest land use covering an area of 42.23%, plantation land use covering an area of 15.20%, residential land use by 0.80%, rice field land use covering an area of 28.92%. , land use for shrubs is 8.58%, land use for fields is 3.01%. The moderate soil movement vulnerability zone in the study area has a weight of 7-12. This area can be developed into a residential area, rice fields, and plantations. The zone of vulnerability to moderate soil movement in the boot study area is 14. This area can be developed into a rice field and plantation area. The zone of vulnerability to high ground motion in the study area weighs 23. In this area it can be developed as a buffer
