Abstract

This study aims to understand waste management in the urban area of Duri, Mandau District. This type of research is descriptive type using qualitative methods. The research is focused on solid waste management which is carried out by the Technical Implementation Unit of the City of Duri Environmental Agency. The research observations were only carried out in the Duri Kota area, especially in the garbage collection blocks carried out by the Duri Kota waste management UPT. The variables used as references in this study include Resources, Characteristics of Implementing Agents, Attitudes or Tendencies of Implementers' Disposition, Inter-Organizational Communication and Activities of Implementers, Economic, Social, and Political Environment. There are two population groups and the sample in this research, namely UPT officers, totaling 12 people and the community totaling 18 people. The results of the research on the implementation of solid waste management policy at the technical implementation unit of the Duri City Environmental Service were quite successful. The conclusion of this research is the lack of waste management facilities and infrastructure due to the lack of budget provided by the government. Related to this, managers need to pay attention to budget resources as much as possible in order to provide facilities and infrastructure for waste management in Duri Urban.
