Abstract

The research was conducted for 30 days starting in December 2019 at the Fish Seed Center (BBI), Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru. This study aims to determine the effect of different stocking densities on the growth and survival of puyu fish (Anabas testudineus). The method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely, P1 (treatment with stocking density of 10 heads / liter), P2 (treatment with stocking density of 8 heads / liter), P3 (Treatment with stocking density of 6 heads / liter). / liter) and P4 (Treatment with stocking density of 4 heads / liter), P5 (Treatment with stocking density of 2 heads / liter). The test fish used was puyu fish aged 7 days with an average weight of 0.02 g and an average length of 0.2 cm. Puyu fish larvae are obtained from semi-natural spawning at the Fish Seed Center (BBI), Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru. The container used is an aquarium of 15 pieces. The results showed that the best percentage of survival in P5 treatment was 76%, followed by P3 treatment, namely 65%, then P4 treatment was 65%, then P2 treatment was 63% and the lowest was P1 treatment, namely 51%. The highest growth in weight and length in treatment P5 is 0.14 g in weight and 13.47 mm in length, followed by P4 treatment which is 0.13 g in weight and 12.80 mm in length, then P3 treatment weighs 0.11 gr and length is 12.47 mm and P2 treatment with a weight of 0.06 gr and a length of 12.13 mm and the lowest treatment P1 with a weight of 0.04 and a length of 11.47 mm. Water quality parameters such as temperature 24-32 oC, pH 6-8 dissolved oxygen 3.5-4.4 ppm and ammonia 0.188-0.222 ppm.
