Abstract

It is generally known that the strength of concrete is largely influenced by its building material (cement, aggregate, and water), and the added material in addition to that is specifically influenced by environmental conditions. Damage due to concrete structures in the peat environment is damaged by concrete. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of peat swamp water on compressive strength and compressive strength of concrete given the added ingredients of fire soda and the composition of the ingredients added to fire soda for the environment of peat swamp water. Concrete quality in this study is fc '30 Mpa for compressive strength and fs 4.5 Mpa for concrete flexural strength. Immersion is done to influence concrete with peat swamp water type, for comparison concrete is also immersed with plain water. Concrete examination to be carried out is compressive strength and flexural strength. Immersion is done at 7 days, 14 dayas, 28 days and 90 days. The highest compressive strength occurs in plain water immersion at the age of 28 days with a composition of caustic soda of 0% (31.02 Mpa), and the highest flexural strength of concrete occurs at 90 days of immersion in plain water with a composition of 0% lye (4.78 Mpa). From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of lye in peat swamp water does not provide optimal results, whether it is the use of caustic soda for 0%, 1%, 1.5% and 2.5%, precisely at high lye content, compressive strength. and the bending gets lower and lower.
