Abstract

Oil and gas are non-renewable natural resources. Continuous production of oil and gas can result in decreased production rates and a decrease in reservoir pressure. The second stage of oil production in oil and gas exploration is called Secondary Oil Recovery. One method that is often used in the Secondary Oilr Recovery stage is Waterflooding. Monitoring & Surveillance of waterflood performance includes using the Voidage Replacement Ratio (VRR) method. The VRR waterflooding method is carried out by observing the ratio between the injected water and the produced fluid. The higher the VRR value, the more effective the injection is. Meanwhile, if the VRR value is less than 1, then the injection has not been able to have a big impact on the productivity of production wells. Even some fields in the secondary recovery (water flood / EOR) stage which are considered effective for their injection pattern have a target VRR value exceeding 1 to reach 2 (VRR 2).
