Abstract
This study aims to improve the learning process and improve the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Gunung Sahilan. The research subjects were 43 students, consisting of 17 male students and 26 female students. The research was conducted on November 7, 2016 - December 1, 2016. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is conducted in two cycles. The research data collection was carried out by means of observation and test techniques. The observation sheet was analyzed descriptively narrative, while the learning outcome test was analyzed with descriptive statistics, namely by adding, averaging, and analyzing the percentage of learning completeness. The results of this study indicate that the number of students who reach the KKM on the basic score is 12 students (27.90%), in daily test I there are 28 students (65.11%), and in daily test II there are 37 students (86 , 04%). Based on the results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the learning strategy of The Power of Two can improve the learning process and improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Gunung Sahilan in the 2016/2017 academic year.
