Abstract

Lancang Kuning University Communication Management in Realizing a Superior University at the National Level Based on Malay Culture Siti Salmatus Sa'diah 169110177 This study aims to determine how the communication management of Lancang Kuning University in realizing a superior university at the national level based on Malay culture. This study used a qualitative descriptive research approach, the subjects in this study were 6 (six) informants, consisting of the rektor, wakil rektor I, wakil rektor II, wakil rektor III, BPM and the head of promotional media obtained through purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. In the technique of checking the validity of the data, researchers used triangulation of sources. The results of this study indicate that Unilak communication management starts from the following stages: 1) planning, implementing values that behave identical to Malay Culture, all study programs have Malay Culture courses, have Malay Literature study programs and produce promotional media products with Malay nuances. 2) organizing, consisting of forming an organizational structure in accordance with the duties and responsibilities in maintaining and preserving the Malay Culture. 3) implementation, organizing training mulok (muatan lokal) Malay Culture, seminars and discussion events related to the Riau Malay Culture, students of the Malay Literature study program explore the history and values of Malay Culture. 4) supervision, carried out by BPM (Badan Penjamin Mutu) Unilak by measuring through a questionnaire google form given to the entire academic community.
