Abstract

this study is that students are still not far away, this is due to the lack of good explosive power of the leg muscles of the students when carrying out a pedestal on the pedestal board. Then another factor that affects the distance of the jump is due to the student's running speed before committing the repulsion, because speed also affects the forward thrust after repulsion is made on the pedestal. So these two elements of the physical condition are related and contribute. This study aims to determine whether there is a contribution of leg muscle explosive power and running speed of 40 meters on long jump results in male students of grade VIII at SMPN 3 Sentajo Raya. This type of research is a correlational study with data processing techniques using a tangle muscle explosive power test, a running speed of 40 meters and a long jump. Furthermore, the data analysis techniques obtained were analyzed with simple product moment correlation. The population in this study were 16 male students. The research sample used total sampling technique, meaning that the entire population was sampled. So that the number of samples in this study were 16 sons. Based on the data analysis, the correlation between the explosive power of the leg muscles and the long jump was 50.54%, the correlation between the 40 meter running speed and the long jump was 32.98% and the contribution of the leg muscle explosive power and the 40 meter running speed to the long jump was 56.20%.
