Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors behind the illegal importers selling illegal imported food and beverage products. This is due to the large number of illegal imported food and drinks that researchers have found in the field to be sold to the public.The authors use a qualitative method of case study approacher fucising on data collection through field observations, as well as in-depth interviews with several key informant and additional informant. From that method, there are factors that background illegal importers selling illegal imported food and beverage products, namely: community factors are the main reason for the perpetrators sell illegal imported products, Geographical location that is very close to Malaysia makes people from the past until now accustomed to consuming illegal imported products so that there is a sense of need for the availability of such products. The perpetrators try to continue to be able to enter and sell illegal imported products to the public, it is not separated from the facility that facilitates so that the illegal imported products can be obtained and then sold to the public. One of them is by ordering through abk ship that exports fish to Malaysia, which abk the ship is given the right by the State can shop in Malaysia about USD50 but for personal consumption. but it is utilized by the abk and the perpetrators of illegal imported products to be sold to the public. Not only that, weak supervision from related agencies is also one of the factors that makes illegal imported products still widely circulated in the middle of the public in Tanjung Medang Kecamata Rupat Utara village.
