Abstract

Based on the initial survey conducted in January 2019, it was found that 62.5% of students entered the Department of Education at the Faculty of Economics because of their interest in becoming teachers, while 37.5% of students were not interested in becoming teachers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the quality of Micro Teaching and Field Experience Practices (PPL) together on the teaching interest of students in the Accounting Education Study Program, Riau University. The method used by the author is a quantitative method that is correlation. The population referred to in this study were 66 accounting students at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training. The sampling technique used in this research is random sampling. So the sample in this study was 66 students. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique is multiple regression. Based on the research, it can be seen that the quality of Micro teaching and the quality of Field Experience Practices (PPL) partially and simultaneously have a significant effect on the teaching interest of students in the Accounting Education Study Program, Riau University.
