Abstract

The Riau Malay language especially in the Koto Kampar Hulu area has been influenced by other regional languages. This is due to many factors, such as the large number of residents from outside Sumatra who transmigrated, such as from Java, North Sumatra, and also other regions. In addition, Koto Kampar Hulu is located in the border area of two districts, namely Kampar district and Rokan Hulu district. This also greatly influenced the development of the Riau Malay Language in Koto Kampar Hulu. The aim of this study is to describe, analyze and find out the form of basic nouns and derivative nouns found in the Riau Malay language, Kampar dialect in Bandur Picak Village, Koto Kampar Hulu District, Kampar Regency. This study used ethnographic design, while the percentage of the data used a qualitative approach. This research was conducted in Bandur Picak Village, Koto Kampar Hulu District, Kampar Riau Regency. The data collection technique used by the author in this study was interview. Where the interview involved five informants. The results of this study are as follows: Basic nouns such as [saɣo�] 'Sampah', [sawiť] 'Sawit', [pasantrɛn] 'pesantren', [miña�] 'minyak', [kaʸin] 'kain', while nouns derived from Malay Among the Kampar dialects in Riau -an [sayUran] 'sayuran', ma- [mamasa�] 'memasak', bo- [b⸧dua] 'berdoa'.
