Abstract

Management of natural resources through ecotourism, which is a form of tourism that is very closely related to the principle of conservation, even in the ecotourism development strategy also uses a conservation strategy, thus ecotourism is very appropriate and effective in maintaining the integrity and authenticity of ecosystems in unspoiled areas. The principle of ecotourism actually has economic value, can provide benefits to the local community and become a driver of economic development in the region and ensure that ecotourism business can be sustainable. Desa Batu Sanggan, Kecamatan Kampar Kiri Hulu, Kabupaten Kampar is one of the villages that stands in the Rimbang Baling ecotourism area. Ecotourism provides opportunities for villages to develop new jobs, such as the growth of impromptu shops, transportation services and camping ground. This study aims to determine the management of ecotourism so that it can improve the welfare of the village community as well as to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors in its management. The indicators used are: Conservation principles and operational management. This research is a qualitative research with research informants consisting of the Bagian umum Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi Riau, Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Kampar, Staff analisis media dan pers Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi Riau, Perwakilan Kelompok Kerja Ekowisata Batu Belah Desa Batu Sanggan, Pedagang disekitar wisata Batu Belah. The data collection techniques used were interview, observation and documentation. The results of the analysis concluded that the management has not been maximized so that the welfare of the community has not been achieved properly. This is due to the many obstacles found such as access, infrastructure and cooperation from each related stakeholder
