Abstract

This research was conducted at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products, Jalan Rawa Indah, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for three months, from November 2019 to January 2020. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the concentration and timing of administration of the active ingredient mankozeb on the fungus Fusarium oxyporum in red chilies (Capsicum annum L.) in-vitro. This study was conducted using a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) using 2 factors. The first factor, various concentrations of mankozeb (D) consisted of 3 levels, namely: 1600, 2600 and 3600 ppm, and the second factor the time of inoculation (C) consisted of 3 levels, namely: the day before inoculation, together with inoculation and the day after inoculation. There were 9 treatment combinations with 3 replications, obtained 27 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 2 petridish plates which were inoculated and sampled so that there were 54 petridish plates. The parameters observed were: effective days for the formation of fungal colonies, colony diameter, length of conidia, inhibition of fungal growth and macroscopic and microscopic identification of fungi. Observation data were analyzed statistically. If F count is higher than F table, then the Honest Real Difference Test (BNJ) is carried out at the 5% level. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that: The interaction of treatment with mankozeb concentration and application time affects all parameters of the observation, the effective application of mankozeb is the concentration of mankozeb 3600 ppm and before inoculation. The main effect of mankozeb concentration affects all parameters, the best treatment is the day before the inoculation of the fungus.
