Abstract

This research is entitled the study of choreography on bridal dance at the bina tasik studio, Pelalawan regency, Riau province, this research was conducted at the bina tasik studio, Pelalawan regency, Riau province starting from December 2020 to February 2021. The formulation of the problem in bridal dance is how to study choreography in bridal dance at the Tasik Development Studio, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. The purpose of this research is to add insight and knowledge for writers related to scientific writing about dance. The theory used is the theory of Y. Sumandiyo Hadi, namely choreography or dance composition according to the meaning of the word, derived from the Greek word choreia which means mass or group dance. And the word grapho which means mass or group dance records. The principles of motion formation became an important concept in the sense of choreography, at first it was only interpreted as the formation or preparation of dance movements, it did not cover other aspects of dance performances such as aspects of accompaniment music, make-up, costumes, and aspects of the equipment in the venue. . The method used is a qualitative method with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation to determine the choreography of the bridal dance. The results of this study are to determine the form of choreography in bridal dance, namely motion, space or floor pattern, dance accommodation, dance title, theme, make-up and clothing, and property.
