Abstract

Fuel is any material that can be converted into energy.One of which includes fuel, namely gasoline, gasoline is used as a source of energy for gasoline engines, for example transportation and others, one way to save fuel, improve quality and reduce pollution is increase the octane number by using additives mixed into the fuel, additives function as increasing the octane number of gasoline fuel, increasing the octane number of gasoline fuel can reduce incomplete combustion (knocking) and reduce pollutants in exhaust emissions. using pure RON 90 gasoline with code PF (Pure Fuel) and RON 90 with the addition of a variety of additives with codes ZA.1, ZA.2, ZA.3 and ZA.4, when testing the rotation data collection used is constant, namely equal to 2000 rpm and the time used is 60 seconds. The results of the research on the variation of additives show that the fuel with a mixture of ZA.1 increasing performance higher than other additives with the highest engine torque value of 27.1 Nm, the highest power is 5,672 Kw, the lowest hourly fuel consumption is 0.941 kg / hour, the lowest specific fuel consumption is 0, 1658 kg / hour.kW, as well as the highest Thermal Efficiency which is 47.5% and the results of the exhaust emission test show that the fuel with the ZA.1 mixture has the lowest carbon monoxide (CO), namely 14.1 ppm and ZA.4 has Nitrogen the lowest oxide (NOx) is 3.068 ppm, from this it can be concluded that the addition of additives can affect the performance and exhaust emissions of a gasoline motorbike, this is due to an increase in the calorific value or octane number of the fuel
