Abstract
In a government it is necessary to have financial reports. Accountability of government activities that affect finances every month. As for the purpose of this study was to determine the appropriateness of the accounting application in the Village of Gajah Mati, Sungai Rumbai District, Mukomuko Regency with generally accepted accounting principles. The types and sources of data that the authors collect in this study are primary data and secondary data. Primary data is in the form of interviews, while secondary data is in the form of financial reports such as general cash books, village bank books, activity auxiliary cash books, village property reports, and reports on the realization of the implementation of the village income and expenditure budget. Data collection techniques in this study using participant observation techniques, qualitative interviews and documentation. In this study, the authors used descriptive analysis methods, namely by collecting data, grouped and arranged so that they could be researched based on relevant theories. Based on the results of this study indicate that the application of accounting in the Village of Gajah Mati, Sungai Rumbai District, Mukomuko Regency is not fully in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
