Abstract

This study aims to determine the communication activities of male make-up artists in Pekanbaru City. Based on the formulation of the problem and research objectives, this type of research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. After going through the process of analyzing the results of the discussion, the results of the study stated that there were two communication activities carried out by male makeup artists in Pekanbaru City, namely: 1) Interpersonal communication activities carried out by male make-up artists in Pekanbaru City, namely in informing clients or consumers about product recommendations beauty, persuasive approach to create a comfortable atmosphere for clients and provide education about the art of make-up clients made up. 2) Business communication activities through Instagram media are carried out by male make-up artists in Pekanbaru City to educate the public about the art of make-up and product recommendations. This communication activity also shows the professionalism of the informants in their profession as a male make-up artist in Pekanbaru City.
