Abstract

This research focuses on how the experiences of students in playing online games call of duty. This research method used in this research is a phenomenological qualitative method. Subjects in this study amounted to 5 (five) students obtained through purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. The technique of checking the validity of the data used source triangulation. The theory used in this study is the phenomenological theory which is divided into 2 (two), namely In Order Motif and Because Motif. In Order Motive is the purpose of the informant playing the call of duty game, namely wanting to become a youutube gaming or a content creator, wanting to be a pro player from other players,wanting to add new friends, making the call of duty game as entertainment and finally wanting to learn. English. Whereas Because Motive is the reason or cause where informants play online games call of duty due to seeing video content game on YouTube, having idols playing games, friends are the reason informants play games, seeadvertisements game that often appear on Instagram,and have challenges to raise to a level or a higher level.
