Abstract

One sector that is able to develop rapidly and can support the national economy while playing a major role in national development is the banking sector. What is the role of banks in national economic development? This type of research is basic theoretical research. Banks are business entities that collect funds from the public in the form of deposits and distribute them to the public in the form of loans and / or other forms in order to improve the standard of living of the people. Banks have a very important and strategic role in supporting national economic development. As a financial service institution, one of the bank's real roles is in channeling funds to the people who need business capital through micro-businesses, small businesses, and medium-sized businesses. With the distribution of funds for the real sector in these communities, the banks indirectly play a role in driving the economy for the community
