Abstract

This study is motivated by the low ability of students in reciting Al-Qur'an. The type of this study is a quantitative correlation research. The problem formulation of this study is whether there is an influence of using tartil method on students’ abilities in reciting Al-Qur'an at Madrasah Tsanawiyah of Nurul Huda Boarding School Pekanbaru. This study aims to investigate the influence of using Tartil method on students’ abilities in reciting Al-Qur'an at the first grade of Madrasah Tsanawiyah of Nurul Huda Boarding School Pekanbaru. The subject of this study is all students at the first grade of Madrasah Tsanawiyah of Nurul Huda Boarding School Pekanbaru. The population of this study consists of 54 students at the first grade of Madrasah Tsanawiyah. This study has two variables, namely the Tartil Method (variable X) and the ability to recite Al-Qur'an (variable Y). The results of this study show that there is an influence of tartil method on reciting the Al-Qur'an. It can be seen from the results of data processing performed by IBM SPSS statistics 22 for windows that a significance value of simple regression analysis is less than 0.05, namely 0.001 <0.05, so the hypothesis that there is an influence of using Tartil method on the students’ abilities in recitingAl-Qur'an at Madrasah Tsanawiyah of Nurul Huda Boarding School is accepted. The level of influence between the Tartil Method (variable X) and the students’ abilities in reciting Al-Qur’an (variable Y) is 20.6%, while the remaining 79.4% of students’ abilities in reciting Al-Qur'an is influenced by other variables that are not examined in this study. In conclusion, the influence of using Tartil method on students’ abilities in reciting Al-Qur'an at Madrasah Tsanawiyah of Nurul Huda Boarding School Pekanbaru is in the "low" category.
