Abstract

The students can learn independently not only during face to to face meeting with the lecturer, but also doing the structured and independent assignment which must be done outside the face to face meeting without any supervision from the lecturer. Therefore, learning independency factor becomes a very important thing for students of Architecture Engineering. This research aims to know the effect of creativity on learning independency of Architecture Engineering Students at Universitas Riau. The samples of this research were 150 students of UNRI. The method used in this research was quantitative with the assistance of SPSS 17.0 for windows and using statistics technique of pearson product moment correlation analysis. The statistics analysis results show correlation in the amount of -0,893 with significance value in the amount of 0,000 (p<0,l05). This shows that there is significant effect with negative direction between learning independency and creativity of Architecture Engineering students at Universitas Riau. In other words, creativity really influences learning independency of Architecture Engineering students, the absence of creativity on students can inhibit their learning independency. The effective contribution of creativity variable on learning independency is in the amount of 16,9% while the rest 83,1% is affected by other variables.
