Abstract
This study aims to improve the cognitive biology learning outcomes of students in class VIII7 MTs N Andalan pekanbaru academic year 2017/2018 with the application of cooperative learning The Power of Two using image media. This research is a classroom action research with descriptive analysis which was conducted on 7 March 2018. Subjects This research is the students of class VIII7 MTs N mainstay Pekanbaru, amounting to 32 male students. KDP score absorption power is obtained, namely from the sum of the quiz scores, LKPD assignments (PR), and block exams on the basic competency set. Absorption of students 'PPK scores before CAR was 64.10%, in the first cycle the students' PPK absorption was 75.77%, an increase of 11.67% from before CAR. In cycle II students 'PPK absorption capacity increased to 86.405%, and increased by 10.33% from cycle I. Classical completeness of students' PPK before CAR was 43.75%. In the first cycle students 'classical completeness was 53.12%, an increase of 9.37% from before the CAR, and in the second cycle the students' classical completeness was 100%, an increase of 56.88%. It can be concluded that the application of The Power Of Two cooperative learning using image media can improve the cognitive learning outcomes of students in class VIII7 MTs N Andalan pekanbaru 2017/2018 academic year.
