Abstract

Information is one element that is needed by humans in carrying out life. One source of public information is through online media. Where the issue that is currently hot is the discourse on adding three periods to the presidential term. This discourse raises the pros and cons of various parties. There are those who are pro to form various supports so that the Constitution can be amended again so that the term of office can be increased to three periods. One of the media that actively participates in reporting is Tirto.id media. In the analysis of the framing model, Pan and Kosicki create a model that integrates psychological conceptions together. Framing devices in news discourse can be classified into four categories which represent four structural dimensions of news discourse; (1) syntactic structure, (2) text structure, (3) thematic structure, (4) rhetorical structure. The purpose of this study is to analyze how Tirto.id framing the discourse on the three-period presidential term in March and June editions. 2021 using the Pan and Kosicki models. This research uses descriptive qualitative method by using documentation data collection techniques. Informants were taken using a purposive sampling technique, namely some news by Tirto.id about the three-term presidential discourse. The syntactic structure is that Jokowi has no intention of increasing his term of office. The structure of the Manuscript is that, with the pros and cons that occurred and the criticism as well as support for the three-term presidential discourse, Jokowi was adamant that he did not want to increase his term of office and made amendments. Thematic Structure. Writing facts through this structure is written by Tirto.id by writing the plot that is seen based on one paragraph and another. Meanwhile, in the rhetorical structure, Jokowi's rhetorical rejection of three periods was strengthened by Tirto.id emphasizing certain words to emphasize the statement.
