Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomena found in conducting pre-survey in the field. This study aims to determine the Role of the Department of Environment and Hygiene in Waste Management in the Tampan District of Pekanbaru City, and to determine the obstacles of the Department of the Environment and Cleanliness in Waste Management in the Tampan District of Pekanbaru, The usefulness of the research is expected to provide additional knowledge to writer about the Role of the Office of Environment and Cleanliness in Waste management in the District of Tampan, Pekanbaru City, and provides an overview of the role of the Department of Environment and Cleanliness of the City of Pekanbaru in the City of Pekanbaru in the District of Tampan, especially regarding waste management and the results of this study can be input for the Office of the Environment and Cleanliness in Waste Management in the Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. The method used in this study uses quantitative descriptive methods, namely explaining and describing and analyzing data obtained by interviews, questionnaires, and observations of phenomena regarding the Role of the Department of Environment and Cleanliness of the City of Pekanbaru . The process of sampling in this study is the Head of waste management, janitor, community. Data collection techniques used were questionnaires, interviews,observations and documentation with qualitative data analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that overall, based on the results of research on the Role of the Environmental and Hygiene Office in Waste Management in the Tampan District, Pekanbaru City is in the category of Fair Role, this is because the implementation still has not reached maximum results because in the District of Tampan there are still several piles rubbish.
