Abstract

The level of traffic density and crowd at the point of the Kuok District road is very large because of the activities of this traditional market. The number of passenger transportation vehicles in the form of travel or buses from Bangkinang to West Sumatra that pass through Payakumbuh City stops at Kuok market to wait for passengers, apart from these activities, the surrounding community uses Kuok market as an economic center, especially buying and selling food and clothing. Kuok market makes people park carelessly on the side of the road due to the limited parking area causing the road to experience side obstacles in the form of congestion, at certain hours on certain days, so that congestion makes the capacity of the road decrease, in addition to congestion problems there are several other problems that become side barriers such as street vendors and shops. The research location is limited to Jalan Bangkinang – Payakumbuh Pasar Kuok. The Bangkinang – Payakumbuh road type, Kuok sub-district, is a one-lane two-lane road bordered by road markings. The width of the lane is 6 m and the width of the road shoulder is 2.5 m on the left and right of the lane. The research method used is MKJI 1997, Methode observation and measurement used to analyzing theimpact of traffic based on MKJI 1997. The parameters analized in this study are capacity, degree of saturration and level of service. The results showed that the traffic impact due to Kuok Market on the performance of Bangkinang–Payakumbuh Road, Kuok District with the highest traffic volume parameter on Pasar Kuok road as many as 1583 vehicles/hour occurred on Tuesday at 11.00-12.00 WIB. The highest total traffic flow on Jalan Pasar Kuok section occurred on Tuesday at 1589.9 smp/hour at 11.00-12.00. Side obstacles on the Pasar Kuok road section are the most on Tuesday with 2023 events that occur at 10:00-11:00. The total frequency of the biggest occurrences on the Pasar Kuok road section on Tuesday is 1340.4 events/100/hour. It belongs to the side obstacle class. very high. The level of service on the Bangkinang - Payakumbuh road section due to the Kuok Market with a V/C Ratio of 0.64 is included in the service level B with the criteria of stable flow, slightly limited speed. The free flow speed on the Kuok market road is 59.15 km/hour and the smallest average speed is on Tuesday at 47.16 km/hour.
