Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the form of responsibility of the freight forwarder (JNE Harapan Raya Pekanbaru) for consumer goods and to determine the factors that influence the responsibility of the freight forwarding service company (JNE Harapan Raya Pekanbaru) for consumer goods. The formulation of the problem, how is the responsibility of the freight forwarding company (JNE Harapan Raya Pekanbaru) for consumer goods? What are the factors that affect the responsibility of the freight forwarder (JNE Harapan Raya Pekanbaru) for consumer goods? Based on the results of research on the Responsibilities of the Goods Delivery Service Company (Jne Harapan Raya Pekanbaru) to Consumer Goods, it is known that the results of the distribution of the questionnaire above are known that so far JNE Harapan Raya Pekanbaru has carried out the responsibility of the delivery service company for consumer goods which is known from the results of the questionnaire of 65% with good category. The form of responsibility given by JNE Harapan Raya Pekanbaru is to return funds of 10 (ten) times the cost of the services used or a maximum of Rp. 1,000,000.00 (one million rupiah) if the sender does not insure the goods sent. Corporate responsibility is something that is needed to provide comfort and certainty to consumers who will use the company's services. By knowing that a company has good responsibilities, the company has followed the provisions of law number 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection, and one of the rights of consumers will be fulfilled with corporate responsibility in accordance with applicable law. Consumers are people who use services, in other words, consumers are service users. As service users, consumers must be protected in order to create justice in buying and selling between service providers and service users, so consumer protection is born which protects and gives rights to consumers to be equal to producers. JNE is a service delivery company that is already large and well-known in the ears of the public where JNE sells services in the form of shipping goods to various destinations according to the location desired by consumers. JNE or known as Pt. TIKI JALUR NUGRAHA EKAKURIR has been around since 1990 and until now JNE is a delivery service company that is often used by consumers or the people of Indonesia.
