Abstract

Criminology is a science that studies crime which is part of the symptoms of society that discusses the causation of crime and the forms of crime. Obscenity is a crime that contradicts and violates a person's decency and decency regarding and relating to the genitals or other parts of the body that can stimulate sexual appetite. There are several factors that cause the criminal act of obscenity against children, namely environmental factors that encourage perpetrators to commit crimes of obscenity in children, educational factors that make the perpetrator unable to understand whether his actions violate the law or not, then the factor that exists in the perpetrator is to follow his endless physical appetite. Based on the background of the problems in writing this thesis, the subject of the researcher's discussion is the factor of the occurrence of obscenity towards children. And how are the efforts to overcome the crime of criminal acts of obscenity against children committed by the Police. referring to the formulation of the problem, this research will use the survey method or in other words the researcher will conduct direct research in the field with interviews as a data collection tool to obtain a definite description including the causal factors and how efforts to overcome the criminal act of obscenity. The purpose of this study is none other than to find out what factors cause the criminal act of obscenity against children. To find out what efforts are being made to tackle the crime of child molestation. From the results of the research obtained by the author, efforts that can be made in overcoming the crime of obscenity against children can be done in two ways, namely repressive countermeasures are efforts made by law enforcement officials in the form of imposing or providing criminal sanctions to perpetrators of crimes of obscenity against children. In this case it is carried out by the Police, the Prosecutor's Office and the Penitentiary. Then it was carried out with preventive countermeasures which is an effort by the Police to urge the public to be more vigilant and supervise their families. This countermeasure is very important because in tackling crimes, especially child molestation, the community also plays an important role in overcoming it.
