Abstract

This research is motivated by the author's observations about the analysis of songket weaving handicraft production in small and medium enterprises (UKM) Pekanbaru City. This study aims to determine the production of songket weaving handicrafts in Pekanbaru. The theory that the author uses is (Ahyari, 1986), namely production is a method that aims to increase the usefulness of a good and service by using the available production factors. The type of research used is descriptive using quantitative methods which are used to describe, explain, or summarize various conditions, situations, phenomena, or various research variables according to events as they are which can be photographed, interviewed, observed, and which can be expressed through materials. document. The location of this research was carried out in the songket weaving industry throughout Pekanbaru. The sampling technique used in this study was the Census Sampling technique. The Census Sampling technique is a sampling technique in which the entire population is investigated without exception, namely the total of 16 weaving owners in Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques used by researchers are interviews, observations, questionnaires and documentation. The results of this study indicate that from the technological indicators seen from the availability of tools, the availability of spare parts is in the quite agreeable category. Labor indicators are seen from the ease of obtaining skilled labor, work experience is in the fairly agree category, raw material indicators are seen from availability, quality, price is in the quite agree category. The government should pay more attention to the entrepreneurs of Pekanbaru songket weaving, because through these songket craft entrepreneurs have provided jobs to the community and improved the economy in the small and medium enterprises (UKM) in Pekanbaru.
