Abstract

This study aims to analyses: 1. The characteristics of entrepreneurs and business profile tempe agroindustry business 2. Feasibility of tempe agroindustry business from non-financial aspects 3. Feasibility of tempe agroindustry business from financial aspects 4. The agroindustry business sensitivity of tempe. Case study was used, the study was conducted in Tanjung Medan Utara Village, Tanjung Medan District, Rokan Hilir Regency during the November 2021 to April 2022. The respondents in the study were entrepreneurs and three employees. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis for market and marketing, technical, environmental, legal aspects and financial aspects through four investment criteria (NPV, Net B/C, IRR and Payback Period ) and sensitivity analysis using the Swiching approach. The results showed that the characteristics of entrepreneurs are: 42 years old, 9 years of education, 7 years of business experience, and 4 family numbers. Pak. Adi's tempe agroindustry business was a household business, and uses modern and traditional technologies. Non-financial feasibility shows that based on the legal aspects of Pak Adi's tempe agroindustry busisness, it needs improvement in order to become legal business or because it was not legal with business feasibility. The financial results show that pak Adi's tempe agroindustry business was feasible to operated and to proceed. The value investment criteria of Pak Adi's agroindustry business for 10 years (2021-2030) with a discount factor of 7.50 % resulting in an NPV of Rp 508,671,096 > 0; an IRR was 38 % > i; Net B/C 2.84 > 1; and Payback Period 1 year 11 months 21 days < business age (10 years). Based on the sensitivity analysis with a switching value approach, the profit of tempe agroindustry business more sensitive on the increase operational cost with a percentage decrease in NPV value of 32.23 % Net B/C 23,55% and IRR value 26.69%.
