Abstract

Prosocial behavior as behavior that gives positive consequences to others. This prosocial behavior can generally be obtained through the learning process. This behavior also shows a voluntary attitude by taking responsibility that develops from childhood to adulthood. Prosocial behavior is very necessary in social life, especially when in a new environment. Helpful behavior in life and neighbors is very important in order to maintain harmony in social life. In 2021, where the pandemic period is still affecting the people of Indonesia, with one of the examples of the highest number of cases in Riau Province, people should pay more attention and care for others. The subjects in this study were 115 people who were selected using purposive cluster random sampling. This study uses a prosocial behavior scale compiled by Monica (2021) which refers to aspects of prosocial behavior compiled by Mussen, et al (2008). The analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this study indicate prosocial behavior in the community in RW 05 with a sample of 115 people, most of the people in RW 05 who have prosocial behavior are in the moderate category. This means that most of the people in RW 05 are still providing assistance or mutual assistance around their environment in dealing with the current COVID-19 pandemic situation.
