Abstract

This research was written based on the symptoms such as some of students did not obey to the command of parents to learn, many of students were not able to control their emotional when they felt angry, some students did not care with problems both from themselves and their environment, some students were not able in motivating both themselves and others, etc. The formulation in this research was is there any significant influence of parents’ roles on emotional intelligence of ten year students of SMAN 1 Pangkalan Kuras Pelalawan Regency, Riau. The aim of this research was to find out the influence of parents’ roles on emotional intelligence of ten year students of SMAN 1 Pangkalan Kuras Pelalawan Regency, Riau. In collecting data, it used questionnaires that distributed to 189 respondents such as at ten year students of SMAN 1 Pangkalan Kuras. In assessing validity and reliability instruments, normality, linearity and simpe regression linear were calculating by using IBM SPSS Statistic 22. Based on the data obtained and data analysing, it obtained there is significant influence between parents’ roles and emotional intelligence . It can be seen from probability is less than 0.05, 0.000<0.05. Where the level of correlation of parents’ roles on emotional intelligence of ten year students of SMAN1 Pangkalan Kuras was 0.773 or 77.3%, while coeficient determination was 0.598 or 59.8%. It indicates that emotional intelligence is influenced 59.8% by parents’ roles, while others 100%59.8%= 40.2% is influenced by other factors that do not include in this research.
