Abstract

Interest in learning is very important for all students, because interest in learning is the main thing that encourages someone to follow the learning process, interest in learning also determines a student in achieving achievement. Interest is a permanent tendency of the soul to pay attention and remember some activities or activities. Someone who is interested in an activity and pays attention to it consistently with pleasure, one of which is in PAI subjects at SD Negeri 002 Ransang Pelalawan who still lack interest in learning, such as students who are less active in participating in learning in PAI subjects. Therefore, the teacher must provide varied methods such as the discussion method. So researchers are interested in researching at SD Negeri 002 Ransang. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether the discussion method has an effect on student interest in learning at SD Negeri 002 Ransang Pelalawan. The population and sample in this study were the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 002 Ransang Pelalawan, amounting to 22 people. Data collection techniques in this study using a questionnaire. And data analysis techniques in this study using SPSS. The results of this study indicate that the results of the analysis obtained a significance value smaller than 0.05, namely 0.000 <0.05, then the hypothesis in this study is accepted. This means that there is an influence of the discussion method on students' interest in learning in Islamic Religious Education lessons at SDN 002 Ransang, Pelalawan Regency. The magnitude of the level of influence of the discussion method on students' learning interest in Islamic Religious Education lessons at SDN 002 Ransang, Pelalawan Regency can be seen from the probability of the correlation coefficient (R) 0.988 or 98.8%. This means that there is a strong relationship between the discussion method and student interest in learning. Islamic Religious Education lessons at SDN 002 Ransang, Pelalawan Regency.
