Abstract

This study is motivated by the low creativity of students in learning the subject of Islamic studies at SMP IT Bunayya Pekanbaru. It can be seen from the signs, namely: there are some students who are less courageous in expressing opinions, there are some students who do not have curiosity, there are some students who are not active in the learning process, there are some students who are less courageous in asking questions and there are also some students who do not have ideas or suggestions about a problem. However, every student should have high learning creativity, because learning creativity is very important in the learning process. The problem formulation of this study is whether there is an influence of role play method on students’ creativities in learning Islamic studies at SMP IT Bunayya Pekanbaru. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of role play method on students’ creativites in learning Islamic studies at SMP IT Bunayya Pekanbaru. The type of this study is quantitative with a correlation approach. The population of this study consists of 115 students at SMP IT Bunayya Pekanbaru, with a sample of 90 students. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The results of this study show that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) that there is an influence of role play method on students’ learning creativity is accepted with a significance value of 0.000. The magnitude of the influence is quite strong (0.520 or 52%). It can be predicted that if the role play method increases, the students’ learning creativities will increase by 0.869 or 86.9%. Likewise, if the role play method decreases, the students’ learning creativities will also decrease by 0.869 or 86.9%. So, it can be concluded that there is a strong influence of role play method on students’ creativities in learning Islamic studies at SMP IT Bunayya Pekanbaru.
