Abstract
This study aims to determine the extent of the role of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in assisting the Village Government to improve the economy in Tanah Merah Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency based on Village Regulation Number 3 of 2016 concerning Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). Suerjono Soekanto, which consists of several indicators that can be seen such as norms/roles, social structure, individuals that are in line with the objectives, the role of village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) While the formulation of the problem in this study are: How is the role of village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) Tamer Mandiri, Tanah Merah Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. The research method used is qualitative, with a descriptive approach to informants and key informants, Tanah Merah Village Head, Village Secretary, Director of Bumdes, Bumdes Treasurer, Community Types of primary data used are observation, interviews, and documentation, while the secondary data collected from relevant information that can support the object of this research. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the role of Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in assisting the village government to improve the economy in Tanah Merah Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency is not optimal, because there are still many obstacles. constraints in management such as the lack of business development for the community, the lack of availability of basic materials in Bumdes Mart, the selection of locations to establish business units is not strategic, there are still many business units that have not provided maximum results.
