Abstract

Over dimensi over loading are one of the goods transportation, transportation used to carry industrial products such as mining, plantations and others. . The increase in heavy tonnage vehicles has had many impacts, both on safety and comfort in traffic and roads. The Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2009 Points 200 paragraph (2) explains that for vehicles with a load of more than 3000 kg which can disrupt the smooth flow of traffic, decrease the level of road service and cause road damage, permission from the Pekanbaru City Transportation Service must be obtained. This research aims to determine the optimization of the duties of the Department of Transportation in controlling heavy tonnage vehicles in the city of Pekanbaru, to find out what are the inhibiting factors for optimizing the duties of the transportation agency in controlling heavy tonnage vehicles in the city of Pekanbaru. The researcher found that there were still many vehicles with heavy tonnage passing through the road at times that were prohibited to do the track and even those that were not the trajectory routes that should have been set, especially on HR roads. Soebrantas and SM. Amin and the lack of coordination carried out by the Department of Transportation in supervising and controlling violations of heavy tonnage vehicles so that they can harm other road users. It is hoped that through this research the relevant agencies can deliver services and provide information more intensively, and it is hoped that this research can be carried out for future researchers.
