Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of the granting of Alfamart and Indomaret Retail Business Permits issued by the Pekanbaru City DPMPTSP on the business continuity of Small Traders around Tampan District. The type of research used by the author is descriptive qualitative. While the data collection techniques used are purposive sampling and incidental sampling. Purposive Sampling is a sampling technique with certain considerations. Using Incidental Sampling is a sampling technique based on chance, that is, anyone who happens to meet a researcher and can be used as a sample. The indicators used to determine the impact of a retail business permit are paying attention to the distance between the shopping center and the people's market, providing a parking area of at least as wide as the parking requirement of 1 (one) unit of fourwheeled vehicles for every 60 M2, shopping center working hours. The key informants in this study were the Head of the Section for Licensing and Non- Licensing Services B, Spv Indomarco Pristama Tbk., Spv Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk., Small traders, and the general public. From the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the granting of retail business licenses for Alfamart and Indomaret to small traders in the city of Pekanbaru (Tampan subdistrict study) has a positive impact on small traders and the surrounding community because with this retail it makes it easier for all people to shop because of the completeness of existing commodities and It also creates job vacancies, thereby reducing unemployment.
