Abstract

This research aims to see the plural of Galombang Dance in Matur Subdistrict Family Studio (KKM), Minas Jaya Village, Minas District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. Galombang dance is a Minang Kabau art dance which is performed at a wedding party in order to welcome the arrival of the male party to the woman's house. The author conducted research using Soedarsono's theory (1977: 42). This study uses a descriptive analysis method using qualitative data. The location of the research was carried out directly in the village of Minas Jaya where the head of the Galombang Dance Studio lives. The data technique uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of this study indicate that in Galombang Dance there are dance elements, namely: motion, music, floor design, dynamics, make-up, costumes, lighting, property themes, and staging. There are 9 types of dance movements in the galombang dance with respect, extreme motion, sympathetic motion, attacking motion, blocking motion, gong movement, galombang closing motion, and galombang closing greeting motion, using tambur and talempong musical instruments, and using floor-shaped designs. parallel line formation, open and close the space, line forward, and parallel to the front and back, the dynamics contained in this galombang dance are high, medium, low levels and wear batanti costumes in red, yellow, black and deta songket on the head which describes urang minang youth. natural make-up, the property used is carano which contains lime, betel leaf, gambier and tobacco. Galombang dance performance system used is an open arena.
