Abstract

Science and several learning methods are the direction of the students, where they are able to apply effective learning methods, so that it can generate healthy interest in learning and easy to understand regardless of conditions and methods.The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the effectiveness of online learning and student interest in learning. Subjects in this study amounted to 289 people who were taken from the psychology faculty of the Islamic University of Riau using purposive sampling technique. The data collection method uses the learning effectiveness scale from Johantoro (2013) which has been modified by the author, amounting to 30 items and the learning interest scale from Nasrul (2015) which has been modified by the author, amounting to 30 items. Data were analyzed using Spearman's rho correlation where the results showed the correlation coefficient r of 0.397 with p of 0.000 (p <0.05). It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between learning effectiveness and student interest in learning, with a positive correlation value.
