Abstract

The crime of snatching is included in the crime of theft with violence which is carried out using a motorbike, then confronting the victim or directly seizing the victim's property which results in the victim being injured and even dead. The crime of snatching is very disturbing to the community and caused many victims. Therefore, it is necessary to map the robbery crime so that people can be careful in areas that are prone to robbery crimes. In this study, the problem will be reviewed using routine activities theory. The research was conducted using quantitative methods with descriptive research type. The data sources that support this research are primary data obtained directly at the research site and sources that are processed by the institution concerned, namely from data from the Pekanbaru Police Satreskrim and interviews with Pekanbaru Police Satresksrim Investigators. The data that has been obtained and collected will be processed using the overlay technique for the final results of this study. Based on the results of the data obtained, it can be concluded that the crime of mugging in the Pekanbaru City area during 2017-2021 fluctuated with several areas that had high crime rates, crime indexes and crime clocks.
