Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the background of deviant behavior by peer groups in Kubu District, Rokan Regency. This study used qualitative research methods. This research was conducted in Kubu Subdistrict, Rokan Hilir Regency in 2021. The samples in this study were Temaja, community leaders, RT RW, sub-district head, parents, and school/BK teachers. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation and documentation. This study used qualitative research methods. This research was conducted in Kubu Subdistrict, Rokan Hilir Regency in 2018. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that there are several reasons or factors that cause adolescent peer groups to deviate, namely teenagers learn deviations from peers, they follow and deviations committed by their group friends, youth groups interact deeply with members of the peer group. Another cause is making deviant behavior a habit. Teenagers for making deviations to be accepted in their group and this can happen in a supportive environment, lack of supervision from school and outside school to control the deviations committed.
